The holiday season should be a time of celebration but, as the cost-of-living soars, too many families face the heart-wrenching decision of choosing between daily essentials and providing the simple joys of Christmas for their children. With your support, Variety UnBox Joy aims to alleviate this hardship and bring a little magic to all kids at Christmas time.

This Christmas, with your help, we hope to provide toys to over 5,000 kids in need. On average each child receives toys costing $65.

By giving today, and leaving a Secret Santa  message for a child if you choose, you can give a child who would otherwise miss out joy, inclusion and a sense of belonging.

LEAVE A MESSAGE FOR A CHILD UNDER OUR TREE

Make your gift extra special! Alongside your gift, you can choose to add a message for a child. Each message will be displayed on our virtual tree and be handwritten on to a card and attached to a toy bag given to a child in need. 

UNBOX JOY FOR KIDS LIKE LUCY AND HER FRIENDS!

Each year we deliver thousands of gifts at our Variety Kids Xmas Party and to homes and organisations in metropolitan and regional areas. Lucy is one of the children who received a special gift last year. 

Last year at the Variety Kids Xmas Party, I was fortunate to accompany Lucy, a 7-year-old from Bendigo as she stood in line for her special gift from Santa.

The atmosphere was filled with excitement as children eagerly awaited their turn. When Lucy's moment came, her eyes widened with anticipation as she received her toy bag, generously funded by donors like you.

At that very moment, Lucy's mum leaned in and whispered to me, "Thank you. You have no idea how much this means. These will be the only gifts she'll be receiving from Santa this year." It was then that I was reminded of the profound impact of your generosity.

Witnessing Lucy's unbridled joy as she opened her toy bag was the highlight of my Christmas.

"Mummy, I can’t believe it!” she exclaimed, as she pulled out puzzles, a board game and, her favourite, a new soft toy that she promptly named Toby, saying he was her “best friend forever”.  

Even now, the memory of her beaming face as she skipped away - one hand in her mum's and the other lovingly clutching her new-found friend - warms my heart.

Stories such as Lucy's come to life through the kindness of donors like you bringing magic and joy at Christmas time.
