Join Australia's Most Iconic Charity Motoring Event

The Variety Bash is Australia's longest-running and most iconic charity motoring event, offering a unique blend of adventure and philanthropy. Participants in this event traverse remote and regional areas, raising essential funds to support children who are sick, disadvantaged, or living with disability.

Each year, the Variety Bash features a colourful convoy of creatively themed cars and a route that takes participants through some of Australia's most stunning and remote landscapes, covering diverse terrains from outback tracks to coastal roads.

The true highlight for many participants is the opportunity to witness firsthand the impact of their fundraising. As we travel, we visit local communities and schools, delivering Variety Grants that provide life-changing equipment and programs to children in need.


What Can You Expect?

Fun Days & Nights

Get into the sprit of the Bash by joining in on the fun dress-up days and themed nights, as well as our famous fun stops, along the way. Each day will have a few surprises in store, so let your hair down and get ready for a whole lot of fun!

Make a Difference

Take part in grant presentations to regional communities and kids living with disability, illness or experiencing disadvantage. We’ll also show plenty of Bash love to small businesses and support rural economies along the way.

New to the Variety Bash?

Get your team together and register!

You will need to choose a "Car Captain". The Car Captain registers the team and completes the required information, including the crew details. Remember, everyone will need a valid Working With Children Check, this can be provided after registration.

Crew Member Details

Your Car Captain will share the team registration link with the crew members to register. Alternatively, Crew Members can also click 'Register' above and select your car/team when prompted.

You will have access to a whole suite of Event and Fundraising resources online via your teams and individual fundriasing pages.

How your fundraising helps


The Variety Bash is all about "doin' it for the kids!" Your fundraising efforts will have a direct impact on Victorian children living with disabilities, illnesses, or facing disadvantage. Your contributions provide essential equipment and programs that make a significant difference in their lives.

As the cost of living rises and more families require our support, let's aim to set a new fundraising record in 2025!

A core element of the Variety Bash is granting aid to kids along the way. We provide individual grants to support children with disabilities or illnesses and also extend support to schools and community groups. If this is your first Bash, prepare yourself for the overwhelming excitement at schools as children greet us – it’s truly special!

What car can I take?

Vehicle models must be 25 years or older. Any car for the Variety Bash must have a body plate identifying it as being manufactured 25 years ago. Please note that some run on models will be accepted subject to approval by Variety Victoria. High performance models will not be accepted. Vehicles must have current registration covering the period of the Variety Bash event. Check out the Variety Bash Vehicle Guide for full details.

Is there an age restriction?

Yes, this event is for those 18 years and older.

Where does the fundraising money go?

All money raised from the event goes to supporting kids who are sick, disadvantaged or have additional needs through Variety – the Children’s Charity Victoria. Variety Victoria are registered with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission and have been delivering vital support to kids across the country for more than 40 years. During the event, you’ll get to be a part of some very special grant presentations out on the road and witness your fundraising impact firsthand.
