What is Australian Coporate Games?

The Corporate Games now in its 4th decade, encourages companies to support their employees' pursuit of a healthier and more active lifestyle. The Games provides the opportunity for anyone, regardless of their sporting ability, to play in a multi-sport championship and remain active in sport. That's why this year, teams are fundraising for Variety - the Children's Charity to compete for good - supporting all-abilities sports days and equipment for kids living with disability.

What is Games for All?

Games for all is the fundraising competition component of Australian Corporate Games where teams choose to compete on the fundraising leaderboard to support kids all-abilities sports programs through Variety - the Children's Charity in addition to their chosen sports.

How do I get involved and sign up?

In a few easy steps! Simply click the Get Involved button at the top of the page and complete the form. 

Make sure you assign a team captain to set up your corporate team first. The team captain will then send you a link to join or you can click Get Involved and select Join a Team to find your team.

How do I set up a team?

Assign one person as team captain to set up your corporate team.

Click Get Involved at the top of the page and follow the steps to set up your personal page and the team page.

Then simply invite your team members with the provided link.

Each team member will have a personal fundraising page linked to the team and all individual fundraising for your team members will add to your team goal.

Do I set up a team for my sport or company?

Set up a team under your company name and invite entrants from all sporting categories to fundraise together towards your team total and spot on the leaderboard!

Can anyone join my team?

We believe in strength in numbers! Gather your colleagues and have them invite their workmates too. It's all about enjoying ourselves while supporting kids in need. You can choose to make your team open to everyone or keep it private so only those you invite can join.

Can I sign up if I am not competing in a sport?

Yes! You are more than welcome to join your company team as a fundraiser only and help them compete in the Games for All fundraising leaderboard challenge!

How do I join a team?

You will either receive an link via email from your team captain or you can click Get Involved, Individual then search for your team.

Following the steps will build your personal fundraising page that sits under the team page. All your fundraising will feed into the team total.

How do I invite people to my team?

Once you've created a team, you can send pre-written email invitations from your fundraising dashboard. Alternatively, you can share the team link provided upon team setup.

What's the difference between my individual page and my team page?

Your individual fundraising page will feed into your team page and towards your team total.

People can donate directly to your team page or your individual page.

Why not set up a friendly sub competition and see who in your team can raise the most towards your team total!

GETTING DONATIONS & SUPPORT

How do people donate and support my team?

Your fundraising page is your greatest ally! Once you sign up, it will be set up immediately, allowing supporters to donate directly to you or your team. Simply share the link on socials and via the email template provided in your dashbard to ask for support. 

You can also set up a Facebook fundraiser from your dashboard and all donations from your friends there will be linked to your page and help you towards your goal.

How do I set up a linked Facebook fundraiser?

Facebook fundraising can significantly boost your efforts. On average, participants have raised $1,500 more through this method. Here’s how to get started:

  1. Log in to your Games for All Dashboard: Go to your dashboard at https://fundraise.variety.org.au/event/corporategames 
  2. Use your individual page for fundraising as all funds will feed up to your Car page. 
  3. Create Your Fundraiser: Click on the "Create a Facebook Fundraiser"  (the big blue button on your cover image)
  4.  Follow the Prompts: Go through the setup process.
  5. Go Live: Share your new fundraiser on Facebook!

    • Publicly acknowledge their support on your social media or training diary.
  9. Collaborate with Local Businesses
    • Reach out to local businesses for sponsorship or to host fundraising events.
    • Offer to promote their business in return for their support.

    • Fundraising can take time, so keep reaching out and sharing your passion for the cause.

How can I keep my supporters updated?

Here are a few helpful ways for your supporters to stay updated on your progress and understand why you're supporting Games for All with Variety the Children's Charity:

Your Training Diary – Your training diary is your blog. You can find it on “My Page” in your fundraising hub. Post all your updates here and invite your sponsors to visit your page for regular updates.

Send Emails Directly – From your fundraising hub on “My Dashboard,” go to “Get Support.” Here, you can send emails to your contacts and share your page directly on your social media.

Post Your Training on Social Media – By posting on social media using #gamesforall and tagging us @varietyvic, you can keep your supporters updated on your journey towards the competition and why you are fundraising for Variety's all abilities sports programs,

Are the donations tax-deductible?

Yes, all donations over $2.00 are tax-deductible. A tax receipt will be sent to you via email.

What is Variety - the Children's Charity?

Variety – the Children’s Charity has a network of 40 offices in 14 countries, and many millions of individual children around the world live a better life because of the generosity of Variety’s communities of supporters.

How many kids does Variety support each year?

Last financial year Variety impacted 17,010 Victorian children and 181,281 Australian children with 
7,381 Individual and Community Grants provided and 
28 Variety Heart Scholarships issued

How does Variety help kids?

Variety - the Children's Charity Victoria help kids who are experiencing disability, disadvantage or illness. Variety provides support to families and organisations through providing grants for a range of equipment, such as wheelchairs or all-abilities playgrounds to provide practical help to kids, schools and organisations in need. We run programs to educate and empower kids that are falling through the cracks. We give scholarships to encourage the talents of kids living with disadvantage or disability. And last but certainly not least, we hold kids’ events to bring joy, light and laughter to children in need and their families.
