It is with a heavy heart that we advise that the 2021 Variety Vic Bash cannot go ahead as planned. Therefore,
The 2021 Variety Vic Bash from Melbourne to Great Keppel Island is postponed.
We really hoped we would never have to make this announcement. Our staff and Bash Support Committee have been working tirelessly over the last two years to do everything they can to bring this Bash to life. Unfortunately, timing was not on our side. With the current restrictions on interstate border movements and density limits in venues, we have had to make the difficult decision to postpone the 2021 Variety Bash.
But we have dates to run the event in October 2021!
As you can imagine, we are still keen to run a Bash in 2021. We have been in touch with our on route suppliers and vendors, to determine availability and can propose a couple of options for the event to go ahead. If there is enough support we will proceed, understanding it will not be possible to suit all entrants. As the event was at full capacity, we are now working with registered entrants to confirm their availability.
At this time, we take the opportunity to acknowledge Howard Barber, Gary Caddy, Geoff Handberg, Darren Hoggan, Jenny Kelly and Sam Martin for their significant contribution to the event. They have gone above and beyond for the Variety Bash over the last few years, and these efforts do not go unnoticed. We also thank our Motoring Events Operations Committee; Rod Collins, Wayne Daisley, Mick Kelly, Rob McCorkell, and Andrew Richards, for their help in organising the Bash, including the Workshop Days held a few weeks ago. Thanks also to Simon Gray and Rod Collins for coming on the two route surveys. We acknowledge our volunteers and officials, who help us keep the wheels rolling. You gift us your time and skills year after year and the event could not happen without you. Thank you for your generosity and spirit.
We give a HUGE shout out to our event sponsors for sticking with us, through some truly challenging times. Thank you to WM Waste Management Services, ACE Radio, Seeley International, Isuzu Trucks, Budget Car and Truck Rental, Sheen Panel Service, Ambulance Victoria and Fire Rescue Victoria.
Finally, we thank our 2021 Bash Crew. We thank you for your significant efforts to rally and inspire a crew to travel across the country. We thank you for the vast time, effort and energy that you have put into the preparation of your car, costumes and gear. And we thank you for your dedication to fundraising for kids in need at this time. Thank you also, for your support and for riding this wave with us. It's been the most challenging two years in our history, which makes us more grateful than ever for all you do and the monumental impact you have in changing children's lives.
We look forward to seeing you again, wherever this adventure takes us next.
