From winery long lunches to surprise outposts only the locals know, this is a journey designed for those who love the road less travelled - and the gourmet moments that make it unforgettable.

Day One - Friday, 26 February 2027
Melbourne - Fish Creek - metung
Day one begins with the city fading behind us as the road opens into Gippsland’s rolling green hills.
We’ll wind through wine country to Fish Creek, a character-filled artist village where a relaxed lunch at Waratah Hills Winery awaits among sweeping rural views. From there, the landscape shifts towards the coast as we make our way to Metung, where dinner at the Metung Hotel brings the day to a close by the water.
Day Two - Saturday, 27 February 2027
Metung - Lakes Entrance - Metung
Day two begins with the sound of the ocean as we ease into a morning made for exploring.
Today’s adventure takes us to Buchan Caves, Victoria’s largest cave system, before we continue through Gippsland high country and along the Gippsland Lakes, where we’re greeted by a truly spectacular view as we enter Lakes Entrance. Here, we’ll enjoy a premium lunch at Sodafish, with sweeping waterfront views to match.
If the weather is in our favour, the afternoon takes us out onto the Gippsland Lakes for a scenic cruise before returning to Metung. For those who fancy a hot soak overlooking the great Gippsland Lakes, Metung Hot Springs is open before we come together for an evening at Metung Country Club, celebrating some of Gippsland’s finest food and drink.
Day Three - Sunday, 28 February 2027
Metung - Coldstream
Day three begins on the water with breakfast at Metung Yacht Club, taking in one last taste of the coast before the road turns west.
As the ocean air gives way to the vineyards of the Yarra Valley, we’ll arrive at Dominique Portet in Coldstream for a beautiful final lunch, a chance to slow down and reflect on the roads travelled together.
