Run Melbourne for the Kids
The iconic Half Marathon that brings Melbourne together is back in 2026 - and this year, every step can help change a child’s life. By running with Team Variety at ASICS Run Melbourne, you’ll join more than 27,000 runners taking over Melbourne’s streets on fully closed roads, racing past world-famous landmarks and into the roar of cheering crowds.
Whether you’re chasing a new PB or running in support of kids who are sick, disadvantaged or living with disability, your run becomes something bigger. With Variety – the Children’s Charity, you’re not just part of one of Australia’s most loved running events - you’re helping fund life-changing equipment, programs and experiences for kids who need it most.
Finish strong at Melbourne Park, celebrate your achievement in one of Australia’s most iconic sporting arenas, and know that because of you, a child’s world just opened up a little more. Let’s run this city - together.

THE WHY
Do it for the Kids
Across Australia, 1 in 9 children live with disability, and 1 in 6 live in poverty. Too many miss out on the opportunities others take for granted. But together, we can help change that.
When you run with Team Variety, every dollar you raise helps provide life-changing equipment, programs and experiences for kids who are sick, disadvantaged or living with disability - giving them the chance to move, play, learn and thrive.

Our Ambassador
Meet Daniel, a proud dad running Run Melbourne for kids who need extra support - including his seven-year-old son, Mace.
Mace is Autistic and non-verbal, and their family has been part of the Variety community for over a year. Daniel knows firsthand the difference Variety makes for families like his.
“This run is about becoming the best version of myself - for my kids. I’ve never been a runner, but I’m doing this for them. Variety means everything to our family.”
When a parent runs for their child, every step matters. Join Daniel, walk, jog or run, and help turn effort into life-changing support for kids across Victoria.
