I'm taking part in the Variety Bash to help kids in need
G’day! We are so excited to be taking part in this year’s Variety Bash – travelling all the way to Great Keppel Island, the long way round!
‘Our Bash Car 9’ started with a crew of three, brothers Howie and Bro Barber and Pete Ekins, We are driving a mighty orange, now Middys pink, 1979 Holden Statesman Deville that has driven more than 500,000 kms. This crew participated in the 2013 Variety Bash to Broome, for the first time dressed as ‘the 3 sheiks’ from the start to finish and since then we have not missed a bash, as Mounties, chefs, cavemen, sailors, Frankenstein, day of the dead themes, with the occasional different crew members. We love it and don't plan on missing one soon.
Throughout the event, we’ll be visiting local towns, stopping into schools and organisations to help kids who are sick, disadvantaged or have special needs through the provision of educational, health and mobility equipment. And the giving doesn’t stop there! Variety continue to support children, families and communities throughout the year with funds raised from the Variety Bash.
