Every child deserves to feel that joy - but for many families doing it tough, the cost of a bike is simply out of reach.That’s where you come in.

The Variety Bikes for Kids program gives children experiencing disadvantage the chance to have their very own bike - often for the first time.

Whether it’s riding with friends, joining in at school or community events, or just enjoying the outdoors, a bike can completely change how a child feels about themselves and their place in the world.

Because of you, a child can experience the freedom, confidence and joy of riding - and create memories that last a lifetime.

For 95 years, Variety - the Children’s Charity has been helping children who are sick, experiencing disadvantage, or living with a disability to reach their full potential.

Variety is here to fill the gaps where others can't. Our life-changing work allows kids to gain mobility, get out and about in the community, communicate, achieve independence and increase their self-esteem. We make sure the kids who miss out can always join in.

Meet Tayla

Last year, 11-year-old Tayla bravely chopped her hair and raised funds through Variety’s Hair with Heart program—helping kids who’ve lost their hair due to medical conditions like cancer or alopecia.

Her hair will be made into a wig for a child in need, and the funds she raised will support Variety’s wig grants and other vital programs. Tayla is one of 574 generous individuals who made a difference in 2024—funding five wigs for kids across Victoria.
